Give Us Time

For the thousands of people living with advanced ovarian cancer, time is everything.1

Each person will choose to use their time differently.

Living with advanced ovarian cancer can be very distressing – people can feel a range of emotions including anger, resentment, anxiety and fear.2

And it can be difficult to know who they should talk to, where to turn to, or how to express themselves.2

Ovacome, in collaboration with GSK, has launched the Give Us Time campaign.

This campaign aims to provide individuals with advanced ovarian cancer with the knowledge needed so they can feel empowered to take the time to talk, and therefore make informed decisions about their mental health and focus on what matters most to them.

Give Us Time highlights the experiences of others living with ovarian cancer and the importance of talking to healthcare professionals, whilst also raising awareness of patient groups that provide emotional support for people living with advanced ovarian cancer and their families.

If you or someone you love is living with advanced ovarian cancer, you can contact our support service or become a member to receive regular updates.

#GiveUsTime

Meet three people from our advanced ovarian cancer community who tell us about their experiences and what time has meant to them.

This image shows Charlotte standing atop a mountain looking into the camera. She’s wearing a hiking backpack, a bright red coat and is wrapped up warm in a hat and scarf. She’s looking straight into the camera, smiling with a sense of achievement. The caption says ‘Give Charlotte Time’ and Charlotte’s quote reads “On my journey, exercise has been so important for my mental health. I want to stay active and inspire others to push forward.”

Here Kerry’s in the gym with her kickboxing gloves on and hands raised. She’s looking straight into the camera with a beaming smile. She looks determined and happy. It says ‘Give Kerry Time’ and her quote reads: “I still try to prioritise what I love – whether that’s kickboxing or woodworking – but my diagnosis has made me stop and reflect.”

In this image, Samixa is looking glamourous in a beautifully geometric patterned blue-green dress with bright red flowers. It looks like she’s at an event or out at a restaurant. She’s smiling into the camera. It says ‘Give Samixa Time’ and her quote reads: “Since my diagnosis, I’ve learned the significance of self-care and making time for myself to enhance my well-being.”
